Echolocationism

Echolocationism is an album of Ben recording some of the most personal songs he has ever written on his grandfather’s Martin D-28 acoustic guitar.  Quite a few of the of the songs were recorded with playing and singing at the same time.

No production tricks. No metronome. No aritifical intellegence.

One voice. One guitar.

While Ben spent hours rehearsing the songs and preparing the space before recording, much like life, there are still imperfections, timing issues, moments when he couldn’t get the words out just right, moments when the guitar strings rattled and his voice cracked.

Echolocationism is different.

Echolocationism is as human as human can be.

We all know those individuals that follow their hearts through it all. No Plan B and ready and willing to go down flames. Plain and simple, “Rocket Heart” is a dedication to them. Those individuals who manage to stay children at heart, those that pursue the dream to the end, and those who are sometimes deemed reckless by a society that seems to continually place more value on material and quantity over soul and creativity. “Rocket Heart” is a song for them. “Rocket Heart” is a song for us.
